Haseena Moin, the legendary drama artist and writer, left us grieved as she passes away at 79 years of age in Karachi.

Her death came to light when Shaheen Pasha, her niece took to twitter in a post telling us about this sorry event. Twitter immediately got overflowed with the condolences from her fans. The cause of her death was not known initially.

Her fellow artists and even U.S. Embassy recognized her work and acknowledged the effort and heart she put into creating dramas. Along with the sadness, they all felt the nostalgia that was linked towards the memories of such an eminent artist. They could not help but feel sorrowful of losing a gem of a person.

She was one of the best creative writers and very well known for writing classical dramas like “Ankahi, Dhoop Kinare and Tanhaiyan”. She wrote the movie “Henna” this became the exclusive cause behind introduction between Zeba Akhtar and Raj Kapoor. Her last sighting in public was on 23rd of March when she appeared at Arts Council of Pakistan in Karachi on an event of Pakistan Day. She even got vaccinated against Covid-19 a day prior at Arts Council of Pakistan. Team at Arts Council was much delighted at her visits on both of the days. They felt honored and happy at visit of such a gem and her behavior towards them was no less sweet.

Haseena Moin also wrote a web series on breast cancer as she herself was one of the survivors. This series is due for the release in April of the same year.

She sharpened her writing skills very early in age when she wrote columns for “Bhaijan”, a popular monthly magazine for children. After that she entered the domain of radio programs where she began writing skits for “Studio number nau.” Her talents were still getting masked by the limitations of print and radio media so she entered the field of television.

She made her debut with “Happy Eid Mubarik.” This comedy play became a huge success. Its artist Neelofer even got the main role in “Shehzori” after that. Shehzori was adaptation of novel with the same name by Azeem Beg.

Haseena Moin went on to write “Kiran Kahani,” which has the honor of being first original script of Pakistan. Her script was strongly supported by the editor of the script, Iftikhar Arif. This again turned out to be immensely successful. What followed was a trail of success in the form of Ankahi, Aahat, Dhoop Kinaray, Parchhaiyan, Tanhaiyan and many more.

Her works reached beyond the limits of the border. Even Bollywood recognized her skills and let her work under its flag.

The whole world grieves losing a legend!
