Mamnoon Hussain was suffering from cancer and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital for two weeks. Mamnoon Hussain served as the 12th President of Pakistan during the PML-N tenure, from 2008 till 2013.

A brief History of former President of Pakistan, Mamnoon Hussain

The late ex-President was an active member of PML-N since 1993, while Nawaz Sharif was in the opposition. Before being appointed as the Governor of Sindh in 1999, he also worked as an advisor to the then provincial chief minister, Liaquat Ali Jatoi. During the military rule, the deceased stood with Nawaz Sharif despite facing many challenges.

Prime minister Imran Khan has expressed his deepest condolences on the demise of the former President. Many other political leaders, including Shahbaz Sharif and General Qamar Javed Bajwa, poured out their deepest condolences and prayed for the late ex-political leader.
