
Born on 13th September 1969 in Victoria, Australia, Shane Keith Warne’s parents were Bridgette and Keith Warne. Shane made his national cricket debut on 15 February 1991 for Victoria against Western Australia in Melbourne. According to Wikipedia, he is the third-highest five-wicket haul taker in the international arena after Muttiah Muralitharan and Richard Hadlee. He took 37 Test fivers and a single ODI fiver, along with 10 Test ten-wicket hauls. In 2007, Cricket Australia and Sri Lanka Cricket decided to name the Australia–Sri Lanka Test cricket series the Warne–Muralitharan Trophy in honour of Warne and Muttiah Muralitharan.
Mr Warne had complete heterochromia, a rare eye condition, due to which one of his eyes was blue, and the other green. He married Simone Callahan in 1995 and the couple has three children. They divorced in 2005. He founded the Shane Warne Foundation after his retirement and dedicated it to helping gravely sick and poor children. He passed away in Thailand on 4th March 2022 due to a suspected heart attack. His sudden death has left thousands of fans and the cricket fraternity in utter shock and disbelief. Cricket stars like Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Akhtar, Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, Sir Vivian Richards, Michael Vaughan and Pat Cummins sent their heartfelt condolences and paid tribute to the legendary Shane Warne.
