TikTok has become a worldwide sensation. A social media application that has developed itself in days and ruled over the hearts of youngsters all around the globe. The app began to hunt the talent of youth by introducing mimes, lip synchronization and other funny videos to entertain the audience. But as it is a firm belief, anything that goes beyond excess turns out to be malicious. Same is the case with TikTok, the day it rose to highest ranking, the users started posting immoral and unethical content that could be threatening to the youth and children watching it. Everyone on the app is forcing himself into gaining fame by any means, even if it costs their dignity. The world of TikTok has brought out another kind of a competition that has put every youngster in an awe of fame and recognition. The internet is full of girls and boys waging a war with one another just to do a fast forwarding to gain the followers. Moreover, the boldness of the users in Pakistan has become a threat to the upbringing of the coming generation as everyone is following the trends and want to be called “trendy”. It is obvious that it should not be tolerated in our country.

TikTok is an immeasurable amount of stress for the users as everyone is before getting followers on their profiles to be called among great “TikTok Stars”. Particularly, the stardom is attracting many and it is dragging every brain into its dark pits. It was the sole reason for Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) served better right to the app by issuing severe orders to the service providers to ban TikTok immediately. Considering the application’s recognition, it came under the spotlight of government as a platform of objectification and sexual exploitation of women. The reason stood out to be very bold and straightforward that became the motive behind its ban.

As a response to the Sindh High Court’s (SHC) order on suspending the app across Pakistan till the 8th of July by assuring that it is working with the authorities.

The lawyer had said his client had approached the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) before moving the court, however, the PTA did not do anything in this regard. The decision had come into practice after the SHC’s statement that TikTok uploaded some videos that are “immoral and against the teachings of Islam.”

But how could it not be a part of our country anymore for so long! TikTok came back with the same eminence. The government did not permanently banned it. PTA asked to delete each and every video that was explicit and against the ethics and morality. Pakistan has banned it twice but lifted the constraint. In a wider opinion, TikTok is a source of explicitness and immorality whereas, there are many positive things as well if one could look closely into it. People share a variety of content that is not unethical. Many people with lesser salaries or no salaries at all have earned a lot through TikTok. This idea took the audience with a reason that the ban on TikTok could do injustice to the people whose sole earning is through the app. Let alone them being the famous TikTok Stars. No doubt, we have seen a number of creativity on TikTok as it goes like,“The creativity and passion of our community has brought joy to households across Pakistan and provided a home for incredibly talented creators,” said TikTok in a statement.
